Monkeypox spread to many countries in Europe and America

This month, monkeypox, a rare infectious disease, has appeared in many European and American countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Portugal,

and many of them have not been to central and western Africa, where monkeypox is high. In the last two days, monkeypox has spread to more countries, including Italy, France,

Sweden, Belgium and Australia, thousands of miles away.

Monkeypox, a close relative of smallpox, has an incubation period of about 7 to 14 days, according to CNN. Its initial symptoms are typical of the flu: fever, chills, fatigue, headache,

and muscle weakness, followed by swollen lymph nodes, an important feature that distinguishes monkeypox infection from smallpox infection. Next, a widespread rash develops on

the face and other parts of the body, including inside the mouth, palms, and soles.

The lesions eventually crust over and disappear within two to three weeks, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Transmission of the disease is usually associated

with smallpox infection in international travel or imported animals, and human-to-human transmission is primarily through large numbers of respiratory droplets, which "require prolonged

face-to-face contact" as they typically travel only a few feet. .
