What is a safety sterile syringe?
A sterile syringe is a disposable syringe, which is a common medical device. The national standard requires that it be produced in a 100,000-level clean GMP workshop, dust-free and sterile. After the product is injection molded, screen-printed, assembled and packaged in the workshop, it is sent to the sterilization workshop through the logistics channel for ethylene oxide sterilization or cobalt-60 irradiation sterilization.
The concept of a safety syringe
A self-destructive syringe will destroy itself or lock after use and cannot be used again. A safety syringe refers to an instrument whose sharp parts are effectively protected (i.e. locked) after use to avoid accidental injury to medical staff and others. The safety syringe can achieve the purpose of self-destruction and effectively protect medical staff and others from accidental injury. It is currently the most ideal substitute for disposable syringes. However, due to its complex structure and significantly higher cost than ordinary disposable syringes, it takes a process to promote it.
The structural principle of the safety syringe
The safety syringe adds protection to medical staff on the basis of the self-destructive syringe that can be destroyed. For this purpose, many patented technologies have been invented, and some have been used in actual production. From the structural point of view, the safety syringe mainly protects the needle by retracting the needle into the outer jacket and moving the sheath forward on the basis of self-destruction. The following are several types of safety syringes.
(1) Needle retraction type. A locking device is provided at the front end of the needle and the push rod. After the injection is completed, the locking device is locked and the push rod is retracted to retract the needle into the outer jacket.
(2) Needle retraction (spring) type. A compressed spring is provided inside the needle or the push rod. After the injection is completed, the spring is triggered to release, causing the needle to retract into the outer jacket and protect the needle.
(3) Sheath forward movement type. This structure adds a sheath outside the outer jacket of the syringe. A compressed spring is provided between the sheath and the outer jacket. After the injection is completed, the spring is triggered to release, causing the sheath to move forward to protect the needle.
(4)Development prospects of safety syringes
Compared with self-destructive syringes, safety syringes have complex structures and high manufacturing costs, which to a certain extent limit their promotion and use. However, with the improvement of people's living standards and the enhancement of personal health awareness, the use of syringes will increase year by year, and the grade will continue to improve. Safety syringes are in line with this development trend and will gradually replace ordinary disposable sterile syringes in the near future.
